Classmate is a course scheduling web app created by students, for students. I led the development of its brand identity, including the creation of a mascot and the design of Instagram content, which garnered 50k impressions and over 5k unique engagements. Additionally, I designed a web and mobile-optimized landing page, enhancing accessibility and driving improvements in user retention metrics.

Vietnam Poster Series

In this poster series, I showcased my hometown, Da Nang, Vietnam, renowned for its stunning mountains and beaches. To emphasize this, I combined photography and illustration for my first poster, exploring how these two mediums can complement and enhance one another. In my second poster, I highlighted my favorite food, presenting it as you would experience it on the streets of Vietnam—served in a fresh, steaming hot bowl, placed on the iconic plastic blue or red tables that line the bustling sidewalks.

The Honeybee Infographic

In this infographic, I wanted to showcase the beauty and significance of the honeybee, a vital yet often underappreciated contributor to our ecosystem. To convey its deep connection to the natural world, I chose an organic aesthetic, incorporating elements that evoke a sense of harmony with the environment. My goal was not only to provide information but also to foster a deeper appreciation and awareness of their role in sustaining life on our planet.

Headspace 404 Page

Background

For this initiative, I created a 404 error page inspired by Headspace’s simple yet impactful branding. Recognizing that encountering a 404 error can be frustrating for users, I designed an animated page aimed at calming the user and reinforcing Headspace’s core mission of mindfulness. The animation encourages users to pause, take a deep breath, and refocus, turning a potentially negative experience into a moment of relaxation.

Laufey Album Redesign

For this project, I redesigned the album cover and promotional poster for Laufey’s album Bewitched while staying true to her established brand identity. Given the album’s theme of falling in love too fast and being a hopeless romantic, I wanted the visuals to evoke a sense of nostalgia, intimacy, and enchantment.

A key element in Laufey’s branding is her use of curtains, seen in her Spotify cover and promotional materials. To maintain this motif, I incorporated it subtly into my redesign. I also observed that her past album covers and posters shared a common background while featuring her in different, yet complementary, outfits. Inspired by this, I conducted a deep dive into her Instagram to find film-like, posed photos that felt personal—almost as if captured by a lover. The grainy texture enhances the album’s romantic and nostalgic essence.

Branding

For typography, I chose a handwritten-style font to mimic a signature, reinforcing the album’s personal nature, as Laufey has shared that Bewitched was inspired by her journal reflections. To further align with her previous designs, I incorporated simple line doodles around her, symbolizing the all-encompassing feeling of new love.
